Ayden-Grifton (16-2, 9-1 Eastern Carolina 2-A) is within one win of its first conference championship since 1976. The Chargers can claim at least a share of the league crown with a victory at home tonight against West Craven (10-7, 6-3), which they swept in their first meeting earlier this year.

The Chargers are a half-game ahead of South Lenoir (9-2), which handed A-G its only league loss earlier in the season. A win tonight would put Ayden-Grifton in position to win the conference title outright with a victory in its last regular season game Tuesday at Greene Central.
