In a day where Ayden-Grifton Men’s and Women’s teams did not have their best overall showing, there were many outstanding individual efforts. Many athletes set new personal records and a few individuals qualified for regionals. The women’s 4×100 meter relay and 4×200 meter relay both qualified for the 2A East Regionals. Sophomore Aale’Yah Garris qualified in the 300 hurdles in her second best recorded time in the event (50.31 seconds) and sophomore Emily Dykes joined two other Ayden-Grifton girls in qualifying for the high jump with a height of 4’10”. Junior Jeff Gunter set a new PR in the triple jump with 40’4″, juniors Nyashia Sutton and Zion Hardy in the shot put with 30’3″ and 29’3″ respectively. Senior Harrison Paramore threw 41’1″ in the shot put, junior Lonnie Jackson threw 36’6″ in the shot put, and freshman Vito Boyd threw 89’5″ in the discus.
